Diving Cozumel During Covid-19

Goverment CErtification

We are one of only a very small handful of Scuba Operators and Dive Centers in Cozumel to receive the required Mexican Government’s Ministry of Tourism “Certificate of Protection and Sanitary Prevention” certificate.

Safety First

We at Blue Magic Scuba have always considered safety as the most important part of our mission. Sure, we want everyone to have the best time possible, but not with unnecessary risks. So, in these strange times, we take extra precautions.

All of our Team Members have been trained to the new sanitary precautions and they each have received their certificate from the Government.

Additionally, Blue Magic Scuba has instituted all safety measures as recommended by the WHO, PADI, DAN and the various Mexican Government requirements.

New Covid Diving Safety Measures

  1. Hand Sanitizing station, floor mat and temperature check in our dive center.
  2. Sanitizing Gel on all boats
  3. ALL Divers must complete a Covid-19 declaration form
  4. Appropriate face coverings (masks) are always mandatory in our dive center and on our boats. Sunglasses are recommended!
  5. Maintain social distance of 6 feet / 2 meters
  6. All gear is rinsed, cleaned, and washed.
  7. Masks and regulators (both 2nd stages) are soaked for minimum of 120 seconds in a 4% solution of bleach before a final, freshwater rinse.
  8. A new mouthpiece is provided on every rental regulator at NO CHARGE. Replacement mouthpieces are kept onboard just in case.
  9. New reusable water bottles are provided to all divers. (actually, this is not a new practice, we are trying to avoid single use plastics)
  10. We regrettably cannot provide fresh fruit; however, we continue to provide individually wrapped power bars and cookies.
